Rain Action...

Now here’s a quickie tutorial that can easily be made in to an action... This tutorial will add a rain effect to your images like the one below...




1... Press the ’D’ key to reset the swatches...

2... Create a new layer by clicking on the Layers tab (F7 key will bring the layers pallet up)... Click on the Create a new layer Icon at the bottom near the dustbin icon... image

3... Hold down the ’Alt’ key and press the ’delete’ key to turn the layer black...

4... Click on Filter from the menu bar and select... Noise Add Noise...

5... Select the distribution as Gaussian Make sure the Monochromatic box is ticked... and apply an amount somewhere between 20-50% (This setting depends on the image so play about with it to suit the image)... Click OK...

6... Click on Filter from the menu bar and select...Blur...Motion blur...Set the angle to abut 60 degrees and the distance to about 20... (These settings depend on the image so play about with them to suit the image) click OK...

7... Set the blend mode to screen...

8... Click on image from the menu bar... Select adjustments... and click on levels... Play about with the histogram until you are happy with the effect...
